FIRST PLACE: “Barb’s Pitcher”

The composition in this painting is nothing short of artistic genius. The work grabs your attention and then keeps you in the frame and you like being there. Notice the repetition of colors and shapes, the line formed by the garment. Color, shape, line, light, darkness: all these instruments are played by the artist to make this painting sing and the viewer’s senses dance.

The Worcester County Arts Council, Inc. is funded by an operating grant from the Maryland State Arts Council, (MSAC), an agency dedicated to cultivating a vibrant cultural community where the arts thrive.
