FEATURED EXHIBITS

“TELL ME YOUR STORY” JURIED SHOW

Twelve artists have submitted 17 original works for the Worcester County Arts Council’s juried exhibition, "Tell Me Your Story."

Art is a powerful form of storytelling, whether it captures personal experiences, cultural heritage, dreams, or emotions. This exhibition invites artists to share their unique narratives through visual expression.

The artwork speaks to:

  • Personal Journeys – Moments of transformation, resilience, or self-discovery.

  • Family & Heritage – Ancestral roots, traditions, or significant life events.

  • Emotional Expressions – Love, loss, hope, or personal triumphs.

  • Imaginative & Symbolic Stories – Dreamscapes, folklore, or abstract representations of memory and experience.

Stories were told - Through bold color, intricate detail, or abstract form, artists took a real creative journey, reflecting on meaningful experiences, memories, or dreams and translating them into compelling visual works that invite viewers to connect, reflect, and be inspired.

We are pleased that Tamara Mills, Coordinator/Supervisor of Instruction for Fine & Performing Arts with the Worcester County Public Schools, will serve as the juror for the Tell Me Your Story juried show.

JOIN US ON FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 12 FOR THE OPEN-TO-THE-PUBLIC RECEPTION HELD FROM 4 P.M. - 6 P.M.

Monetary prizes and the judge's remarks will be presented at 5 pm.

Exhibition Dates: September 2- November 2

In addition to the featured exhibit, artwork created by thirty local artists and Gallery members is also on display and available for purchase.

This year, over 250 students in five elementary schools in Worcester County participated in the Summer Arts Camp program, presented by the Worcester County Arts Council. With this year’s theme, Life on the Eastern Shore, students explored the rich traditions of local farming and agriculture through the arts.

Students engaged in a variety of hands-on visual art and music workshops designed to spark creativity while deepening their understanding of our region’s agricultural heritage. Through fun-filled activities and performances, young participants connected with the land, the culture, and the rhythms of Eastern Shore life in a truly memorable way.

We are grateful for the partnership with the Worcester County Public Schools and talented art teachers that allows us to reach out to a diverse population of Worcester County students in this art enrichment program.

The Worcester County Arts Council is thankful to the OCEAN CITY/BERLIN OPTIMIST CLUB for the continued financial support of the Summer Arts Camp program!
