- Karen Amelia Brown Email: Work Description: Making quilts for walls is an extension of her love for color and texture. Images just seem to appear as she stitches together various pieces of fabric. All Karen’s work is an extension of her spirituality, bringing spirit, nature, color together and being amazed at what emerges. Biography: In 1992, Karen Amelia Brown left a 20-year corporate career to become a professional calligrapher. Since then, she has explored many new areas, learning to paint, developing workshops, teaching, writing, leading retreats and now quilting. Recent Work: Karen has recently moved to the Baltimore area to live as Artist-in-Residence at Emmanuel Monastery.
