Work Description: Mitzi experiments with different styles and designs that develop into beautiful scarves,
pillows, wall hangings, framed art, and cards.
Biography: A college counselor in her previous professional life, started painting on silk in 2001, after 10 years of studying photography.
White silk is stretched on a frame and painted with dyes. Like watercolor, it is all about movement and fluidity.
After the work is completed, it must be steamed to set the dyes, cured for a few days, washed and ironed.
Recent Work: Mitzi's silk art has been recently displayed in November/December issue of Maryland's Life Magazine.
