SUMMER ARTS CAMP 2017 SUCCESS!

photo

Our annual Summer Arts Camp for children, held June 19 – 23 at Berlin Intermediate School, was again a big success!

More than 70 campers, grades 3-8, participated in this program and learned from professional artists and instructors, assisted by high school students, who volunteered their time during the week of the camp.

This year the Arts Council offered six different art workshops including visual arts, music theatre, and dance classes. Our instructors are professional teachers/artists and many have been teaching at our summer arts camp for years. We thank them for their endless energy and talents!

We are happy to announce that Emily Sandt, who attended this year's Summer Arts Camp for children, has been named a Winner of the annual T-shirt logo design contest.

Emily’s creative design was selected out of 20 entries submitted for the contest. Her design will be printed on t-shirts and worn by all campers who participate in 2018 Summer Arts Camp for children.

The Worcester County Arts Council is thankful for the support of the Berlin/Ocean City Optimists Club for providing financial assistance to this program, Berlin Intermediate School for offering their space to host our camp, and our members for their monetary contributions that allowed us to provide camp scholarships for several students.
