| WCAC Art Scholarship Program
Six talented local students have been each awarded $1000 art scholarships from the Worcester County Arts Council in support of their artistic goals. Samantha Carestia, Kathleen Kotoski, and William Cooley, graduating Stephen Decatur High School seniors, Allison Stancil - graduating Pocomoke High School senior, Sinead O'Brien - current student of Delaware College of Art and Design, and Regan Kyger, graduating Snow Hill High School senior who has been awarded William Beste Memorial Scholarship provided by Nancie Beste and her family in memory of her husband and long time member of the WCAC Board of Directors.
Scholarship awards were also possible by a generous grant from the Mary Humphreys Foundation and donations from many patrons of the Arts Council.
The Worcester County Arts Council's scholarship program is designed to identify, recognize and encourage talented students who demonstrate excellence in Dance, Music, Theater, Visual Arts and Creative Writing.

The Arts Council will award art scholarships of $1000.00 each during the 2011-2012 school year, to qualified students interested in pursuing academic careers in the arts.
This is a merit scholarship and award decisions are based on evaluation of talent, dedication and potential, not financial need.
Applications deadline: March 15, 2012, 2 pm.. Applications must be recieved at the Worcester County Arts Council, 6B Jefferson Street, Berlin, Maryland.
Graduating seniors, who will major in the visual, performing, music or media arts, are encouraged to apply.
Scholarships are also available to college art majors wishing to continue their education in the arts.

Applicants are judged on their visual, dramatic, writing, or musical presentations in the form of DVD, CD, or pover point recordings. Application form and Scholarship Guidelines are available at the Worcester County high schools through the guidance offices, the Arts Council’s office and directly by following the links:
