Work Description:
Susan produces exclusive knitted and crocheted afghan designs which include features of her developed pattern interpretation method (the PCM©). This process enables all levels of knit and crochet enthusiasts to better comprehend and follow written patterns and instructions.

Susan's personal needlework library has over 3,000 books and publications. She studies the art of knit and crochet including history, color, texture, simple and complex patterns, design process elements, tool use and diversity, fashion, textiles and related fields.

Susan developed a special interest in needlework of period 1850-1950. She does researches for design process as well as for development and preparation of class content. Susan has also a separate collection of personally selected needlework books for sale. She created a new knitting tool; in beginning stages of patent, manufacture, marketing.



Biography:
Writer/Editor; Business Owner. In 1996, Susan successfully developed and opened the printing shop and business services center in Groff Plaza, Ocean Pines, Maryland: “WPA Business Links©”; (Write/Print/Act) five employees. Professional consultations, writing and editing. Sold print shop in 2001.

Recent Work:
PROMOTION OF FIBER ARTS

- Teaches multiple classes at: Ocean Pines Comm. Assn.; at the Art Institute and Gallery in Salisbury MD, the Worcester County Arts Council in Berlin MD, and privately for groups and individuals.
- Develops Interest in Needlework Groups: Began “NET” (Needlework Enrichment Time) group.
- Volunteer, 2006-08, at the Gull Creek. Berlin MD, “Needle Guild” to promote fiber arts.
- County Fair Needlework Judge: Wicomico Home and Farm Show.
- Presentations and lecture/discussion to interested groups.
