Meet Randee Newlin Campbell

Biography:
Randee Campbell was born in Pennsylvania in 1983. Growing up, art was always her favorite subject and she was greatly influenced by painters such as Van Gogh and Monet.
After spending her high school years at Stephen Decatur in Berlin Maryland she went north to attend Frostburg State University. She graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a concentration in Graphic Design.

During her senior year at Frostburg she was given an assignment to create something with a minimum of 4 layers; and each layer had to have something added and subtracted. This assignment led to the creation of what you see today. Randee says of her work, "I try to keep a wandering state of mind.” I keep adding and subtracting from the layers of paper until I'm happy with it, and in most cases it's something completely different than what I envisioned.”

Randee currently lives in Charleston, SC with her husband Ian and rescue dog Lucky.

Randee's mixed media work is featured on the exhibit at the Worcester county Arts Council Gallery during the month of October.
