Meet Barbara Doyle Schmid

Work Description:
Barbara Doyle Schmid, a watercolorist, paints the towns, marshes and waterways of Delmarva, as well as the flowers she grows in her garden, using transparent paints to capture the special light of this unique area.

Biography:
Painting for about 15 years, Barbara continues to study under many artists in workshop sessions and currently attends a master class weekly. She has won numerous prizes, including several Firsts and People’s Choice at the Ocean City Art League. Her works have been featured at the Libraries in Berlin, Ocean City and Ocean Pines on several occasions. She exhibits yearly at the CCART Exhibit for the benefit of Salisbury University. Barbara’s work had been on permanent exhibit at the Main Street Gift Gallery-Just a Taste in Berlin for about six years. She lives with her husband, Don, in Ocean Pines.

Recent Work:
She is presently on exhibit at The Globe in Berlin. She will present a one-woman show at the Worcester County Art Council in Berlin during September and October of 2007.

Teaching-Availability:
Barbara teaches a class called Beginners and Beyond in Watercolor for the Ocean City Art League each month. Anyone interested in learning about watercolor painting or in becoming more skilled can call her for information about the class at 410-208-0219 or e-mail .
