Meet Stasia Heubeck
Mother and Child
Portraits, Still Life, Landscapes in oil and pastel
Catherine Anastasia Heubeck - “Stasia”
The Schuler School, a nationally known art school in Baltimore, where Stasia attended in the 1980s, has been a driving force behind her artistic career. The techniques she learned there have enabled her to develop her skills and pass them on to her students.
Primarily a portrait painter, she also paints landscapes, still life and miniatures. She believes painting with oils, although intimidating to some, is an easy and creative medium to master.
Stasia also enjoys writing and interviewing other artists. In the Courier, a local Delmarva newspaper, she writes about local artists and well-known artists from Michelangelo to Andy Warhol. The Art League of Ocean City publishes one of her interviews in each bi-monthly Newsletter.
In addition to being a co-op artist of the Worcester County Art Council, Stasia is a member of the Art League of Ocean City where she exhibits and teaches.
In my portraits, I strive to enjoy a collaboration with the sitter or patron that will produce a unique painting that brings pleasure for many years.
In my other paintings, I hope to capture something that touches the viewers’ memories or experiences from their travels or from our Eastern Shore of Maryland.
