Meet Stephanni Scott
My artistic career started in the mid 1970’s after leaving the employment of a private, non-profit, Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind in Washington DC. My free thinking boss designed my job around my strengths and interests, but not my job description, and sent me to school for Graphic Design and photography. I carried these skills forward and opened a small Art/Craft Gallery in Ellicott City, Maryland.
The same year the Maryland Renaissance Fair opened in nearby in Columbia Maryland, which became a big outlet for my artistic inspirations. I was involved with this festival until 2014 and am currently working on a children’s book that takes place there.
I am basically self taught yet have studied with some great teachers. Maryland based watercolorists Diana Marta and Alice Webb as well as world renowned artist and author Frederick Franck.
My work has been described as fluid, often depicting some sense of wonder or a moment caught in time. My favorite painting is always the next one.
