JURIED ART EXHIBIT
April 1 - 30, 2017
During the month of April, the Worcester County Arts Council is pleased to present “Artist’s Choice”, juried art competition.
Opening Reception: April 14; 5 pm - 8 pm
Awards announcement: 5:30 pm
The exhibit features 25 pieces of two and three-dimensional, all media artwork submitted by 20 professional and amateur artists who entered this competition.
Submitted artwork was reviewed and winning artwork was selected by the accomplished local artist, Grover Cantwell.
The winners were honored at the opening reception held on April 14 at the Arts Council Gallery.
Megan Burak won first prize for “You Are So Damaged”, oil painting, Myrna C. McGrath placed second for oil painting “Season of Mists”, and Richard Beckstead won third prize for the “Summer on Pocomoke”, acrylic painting.
Honorable mention awards were also given to Marian Bickerstaff for her acrylic painting titled “Something to Crow About”, Isabel Morris for the oil painting of “Surf Up”, and Reeves Dark for his oil painting “Now I am Alone”.
Fourteen other artists were also chosen to exhibit their work in the show. Exhibiting artists include: Mitzi Ash, Judy Benton, Dee Brua, Stan Brua, Karen Dimaio, Kathy Gibson, Sandy Glassman, Barbara Hager, Rudelle Hall, Lisa Leo, Geo McElroy, Ron Michaels, Charlotte Poore, and Susan Rosskopf.
All artwork is available for sale. The exhibit will continue to be on display until April 30, 2017.
